The trekking route passes through many varied climatic condition from sub tropical to alpine and so inevitably the vegetation changes accordingly giving trekkers a wonderful variety of flora & fauna. You will meet many different ethnic groups - it is rather like trekking through a live, open museum - and you will experience some of the diverse but equally friendly people and cultures of Nepal.

Trekking to Annapurna Sanctuary - a most picturesque trek in Himalaya After a short drive from Pokhara we start our Annapurna sanctuary trek ascending gradually through the beautiful varied landscape of cultivated terraced field and lust forest of oaks, magnolia and mostly huge and dense rhododendron trees. The early morning climb to Poon hill (3230 metre) will give you the best possible panoramic sunrise view on whole fabulous Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges and also allow time of proper acclimatization. The combination of tiny thatch-roofed villages set among the narrow terraced fields with the backdrop of stunning snow-capped mountain ranges makes the trekking to Annapurna sanctuary is one of the most picturesque treks in the Himalayas. We continue the Annapurna sanctuary trekking following the beautiful green Modi Khola valleys surrounded by spectacular towering peaks and sheer high rock walls with gushing sparkling waterfalls tumbling down into the roaring river below. We ascend to fascinating Machhapuchhare Base Camp  beyond which the valley widens as it reach the lateral moraine of Annapurna south glacier. The mountain views are simply breathtaking from here: Hiunchuli, Annapurna south, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Macchapuchhare (Fishtail) complete a fabulous panorama. A further gradual 3 hours steady climbing and you will reach Annapurna Base Camp, a vast spectacular natural alpine amphitheater of fabulous surrounding of the Annapurna sanctuary a truly wonderland of glistering peaks, snowfields and glaciers - an unforgettable Himalayan paradise.

Detail Itinerary

A very warm welcome to the Kingdom of Himalayas. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan international airport our representative welcomes you and assists you transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, evening you'll meet and transfer for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant in the heart of Kathmandu i.e. Utsav or Nepali Chula (Kitchen). Here you will not simply experience the traditional Nepalese dish but will be entertained with Nepalese traditional dance and folk songs. After the dinner, you will be transferred back to your respective hotel.

Kathmandu is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The city presents a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence in the Valley. Bauddhanath: Stupa with it's 130 ft. dome. One of the world's largest Stupa, Bouddha is generally acknowledged to be the most important Tibetan Buddhist monument outside Tibet. Tibetans simply call it CHORTEN CHEMPO "Great Stupa". It has now become the Mecca of Tibetan exiles in Nepal. Walking around Bouddhnath one often fins men wearing long braids wrapped around their heads. Many of these pilgrims carry their own prayer wheels, which they spin incessantly. Pupshupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath is considered one of the holiest shrines of all the Hindu temples. The temple has remained the presiding deity of ruling Nepalese Royalty. Located on the banks of the Bagmati River, this two-tiered magnificent golden temple with four triple silver doorways is unique example of the Nepalese temple architecture. It is one of the largest Hindu temple complex in' South Asia with hundreds of Shiva lingams, shrines icons of various Hindu god and goddess insides. This temple site occupies an area of 281 hectors in total. The main entrance of this temple is in the western side facing a small street of Deopatan market. As non-Hindus are not allowed to enter this temple courtyard, they are advised to go on the other side of the river in the East to have a glimpse of the temple complex. In the middle of the spring (Feb. March) every year there occurs a festival called Shivaratri. The world Shivaratri means the holy night of Lord Shiva. On this day many devotees visit the Pashupati Nath temple and make the ceremonial fire. Most of the devotees spend the night offering prayers to Shiva. This festival attracts tens of thousands of pilgrims from India besides the locals. Historically pre-Christian era this temple seems to have its origin away back to the early Kirat period. Stone sculptures found in the vicinity support the antiquity of this place. This holy site is 6 km. east oil down town Kathmandu. Regular bus and taxi services are easily available from a city points. After the city tour, our guide or the company's manager will do the full briefing of the trek. They will also take the opportunity to check the members' personal equipment as the city bazaars and climbing shops will provide the last chance to correct any deficiencies.

This morning we will be departing the hotel early in the morning to avoid the traffic, the transportation will be either Bus/Mini Bus/Land Cruiser/Car according to the group size and the driving to Naya pool via Pokhara will take approximately 8-8.5 hours depending on the traffic. You will enjoy the scenery of Mountains, River, Terraced field, Local villages during the journey to Naya Pool, which you will missed if you take flight to Pokhara. Once we arrived at Naya Pool, we walk for half an hour to Birethanti where we will stop for the night in the Lodge. We cross a small stream at Naya Pool. Then another bigger river- this is Modhi River which originates at Annapurna Base Camp. We spend the night by the beautiful river side Lodge at Birethanti.

At Birethanti, we take the left hand side trail and follow the bank of Bhurungdi Khola. The trail is easier mostly and passes some pleasant small villages such as Ram Ghat, Sudame, Hile, Upto Tirkedhunga (1575m.), there is not much ascending. From Naya pool it is 4 to 5 hrs walk to Tirkhedhunga. We cross over a suspension bridge at Tirkhedhunga, then it is a steep up trail for 1-2 hours to Ulleri. The view from Ulleri is wider.

After a short uphill and then an easier trail providing a good view of Mt. Annapurna South (7273m) and Hiunchuli will proceed into forest area. Today it is mostly the trail runs through fascinating varieties of Rhododendron, Oak trees till we get to Ghorepani at (2810m). Ghorepani was originally a horse watering post, which has envolved into as important crossroads for tourist and the numerous mule caravans on the Jomsom-Pokhara trip. We may find more than one pleasant places for journey breaks with tea-stops. Total 5 to 5-6 hrs trek. Ghorepani is a quite bigger hill-town. You are welcomed for night stay in a very comfortable lodge with the amazing view of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan range. Overnight at Lodge.

It is an hour walk to go to there and started normally at predawn, making sure that the sun-rising scenery is not missed. The sun rises earlier in Spring days than in Autumn time. So, depending on your trek season, you may have to start the walk with flash light, trekking stick and warm/wind breaker jackets. At Poon Hill you may spend 20 to 30 min and then start to way back to Lodge which will take 25 to 30 min on return. Breakfast at Lodge and then day trek to Tadapani (2682m). It is a pleasant and short trek day around 4-5 hrs. Mostly you will be walking through a pleasant forest and the trail is mixed of easy up and down hill walks. We often find tea shops at good location for the views or just make a good journey break. Overnight at Grand View Lodge in Tadapni.

Start with easy descending while having grand view of Fishtail and Hiunchuli. Sometime later, the trail becomes steeper down, but sceneries are unparallel. About an hour and 15 minutes we cross a suspension bridge and the trail heads to north which is not descending. It is a mixed of short up and down. It is a long walk even through the forest sometimes. A landside site is passed before to arrive to a tea-shop. From the tea-shop Chhomrong is about an hour way. Check in at lodge and enjoy the rest of times visiting around. It is a prosperous Gurung settlement. Over night at Lodge.

From Chhomrong to Bamboo it is about 4 hrs walk. And from here to Dovan 1 hour and half. The trail is full of short up and down hills walk. It is filled with several natural attractions. We will pass the thick forest of bamboo a multi useful plant grown all over Nepal. Majestic view of Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Fishtail with its new face, Mardi Peak etc can be seen. We check in Lodge and rest until dinner time.

Passing small settlements like Deaurali in 35 minutes, Himalaya (1 hr beyond Dovan), Hinku (45 min), and finally to MBC in 2 hour. This is in Annapurna Sanctuary area. In all four-direction of MBC, there will be snow covered Himalayan peaks. The top of Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna III, Gangapurna seems very attractive etc. make a glorious present at stone-throw distance! We check in lodge here and rest. It is suggested to take a walk around but with your guide is always safe! Overnight at Lodge.

Upon arrival here, room check in and spend the day at free; making photos and enjoying the superb view of Mt. Annapurna I (8091m) and its all family members (from Annapurna I to IV). From here it is often got to see that mountaineers climbing with full range of climbing gears on some easier (trekking) peaks to the Mt. Annapurna I. Overnight at Lodge The moon (if it is the full-moon time) or the stars at night seen from here so special.

Enjoy your breakfast watching the sun-rising on the gigantic Himalayan peaks. And stroll around until for some time. Then having the memory full, we start our trek back to MBC and onto Bamboo retracing the same trail. Overnight at Lodge.

Upto Chhomrong follow the same trail. From Chhomrong, we should go to downhill trail taking the left-hand side fork. Jhinudanda is half hour away where we can get to experience the natural pool of hot water. It is good to try out. Overnight at Lodge.

After Jhinudanda we reach to Landrung (1565m) village via New Bridge in around 2 hrs. Tolka is another an hour and little more walk from Landrung. Pitam Deaurali is 1 hour from Tolkha. Pothana is another an hour from Deaurali, and we would highly recommend that if have 30 minutes of extra energy to continue trek to Australian Camp which will definitely provide you 360 degree views of surrounded mountains, the benefit of stopping here for overnight will give you the best chances of both sunset & sunrise views & this will be the highlights of the trip. However if you are exhausted and can't continue to Australian Camp this evening, don't worry at all, you may stop at Pothana for the night and there will be still possibility of visiting the Australian camp the early morning following day for the fantastic views. Enjoy your final trek dinner with 360 degree mountain view.

1 to 1.5 hour trek will bring yus back to the road head at Kade Bhanjyang, from where we will be driving back to Hotel in Pokhara, beautiful views of both surrounding mountains and landscape will be seen during this short drive. You can stop at Naudanda (in between) to take magnificent photos. All the staffs will continue driving back to Kathmandu except the guide. Upon arrival at hotel, enjoy the hot shower, shaving etc. Then go for lunch on your own. Rest day, Overnight in Hotel on B & B Basis.

Morning/Afternoon mountain flight will bring you back to Kathmandu, this short (25 minutes) flight will provide you once again a panoramic views of gigantic Mountain in distance in a clear weather. Free afternoon time in Kathmandu on your own. Celebration meal in the evening with local staff

Transfer to airport for final departure to onward destination, Grand Himalaya representative will come to airport to say good bye.

  • 3 night hotel accommodation in Kathmandu in Hotel Shankar, a 4 star hotel with all rooms having private facilities. Breakfast is included. Accommodation is on a twin share basis but single rooms are usually available at an additional cost. Please inform us as early as possible if you wish to have a single room.
  • One night hotel accommodation in Pokhara by the fewa lake on B&B basis. Rooms on twin sharing.
  • Transportation: A private Mini bus/Land Cruiser/Van according to group size from Kathmandu to Birethanti & from Kande Bhyanjang to Pokhara after the trek.

  • Your Nepal entry visa fee (USD:50 available on entry) Valid for 30 days.
  • Tipping in Nepal is customary. Allow USD: 250-300/Per guest.
  • Excess baggage above 15 kg will be extra charged USD: 1.5 per kg during the peak season.
  • Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu because of early arrival, late departure, early return from mountain (due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary

A deposit of 30% of the total trip cost is payable at the time of booking and the final balance due 8 weeks before the start of the trip. The act of booking implies that you have accepted the ethos of the trip and any objective or subjective risks associated with it.

Cancellation


Should you wish to cancel your booking please inform us immediately in writing by e-mail or letter. The following charges will apply, as a percentage of the trip: 
More than 42 days before departure 30% of total cost 
42 to 29 days 50% of total cost
28 days to 15 days 75% of total cost and 
14 days or less 100% of total cost. 
These cancellation charges go to paying, among other things, outside Guides that have been contracted in, hotel or airline deposits, staff wages, setting up costs etc.
